Southern Tropic hops were formerly known by the breeding number U1/108. Southern Tropic has some sweet aromas of melon, tropical fruit, and a distinctive guava. Brewers have also reported a unique butterscotch or cream caramel that is reminiscent of the neomexicanus daughter Sabro®.
